Midwife, I Like!

So as I mentioned I had an appointment with my new midwife on Monday. I really like her a lot! Her name is Donna Tash and she is way nice and has a good spirit about her. I am really hoping that I will like the other 2 midwives just as much when I meet them. I'm sure that I will like them just fine ultimately. But so far I am really hoping that Donna will be the one that will deliver my baby.

Oh and she gave me some great news, they are working on opening the Mesa office. It's taking a long time though she says because St. Joe's is very thorough when it comes to opening a new office which they are associated with. But we are all hoping that by my next visit we will be going to the Mesa office instead of the PHX office.

So yeah, I am excited about all of this. This is going to work out the way I want it to after all! ^.^

Pregnancy Update

I had finally talked with my midwife and she was very understanding about how I was feeling and I asked her if she new of any other midwives in the area and she suggested ones at St. Joe's. One of them whom she had formerly worked with. I chose to call this clinic there is 3 midwives that all deliver working there. In fact I discovered that it was the same one that I had almost gone to in the first place because I had asked someone from church about one that they had used. So I decided to go to this place since 2 of the 3 have been mentioned to me by name prior to choosing them. My first appointment is on the 31st, I guess we'll see how it goes... Only problem that I can see right off is the fact that it's a 20 min drive to the office just for appointments. But if there is traffic then it's 40 min... So needless to say... I have a nagging thought in the back of my mind saying "Should I just go to a doctor that is closer?" I just don't know... I think I will stick with how I have it now but that question keeps nagging... Maybe it will subside when I go to my appointment on Monday. My appt is early... I think in the future I will request midday so that I don't have to play the will there be traffic game.

More Eating Firsts

I was having major trouble with the layout and pictures up and disappearing so I decided to split the Eating Firsts up a little to make it maybe work out somewhat better... -.- Is there some sort of trick to it all? it frustrates me and the preview doesn't even look like what it does when it's posted... I am so annoyed.
This is Laurana's first time eating spaghetti.
Not sure if she liked it much or not, but it
sure got all over her face.
First time eating sloppy joes!
Boy were they sloppy!
Ketchup on my face from my first hamburger.
I ate almost the whole burger! Of course some
hit the floor but most of it was in my mouth
and made it to my tummy!
It was all itty bitty pieces of course.

Eating Firsts

Laurana has no teeth yet but her philosophy seems to be as
her daddy put it once... "Teeth? I don't need no stinking teeth!"

She is really adept at picking food up with her little pincher grip. Still impresses me every time.

Macaroni and cheese is probably her favorite so far eating it in many varieties. Kraft, Gerber Graduates Shells and Cheese, Boston Market Spirals.

She will eat anything she
can get her hands on, or
at least attempt to eat anything
she can get her hands on.

And if she sees you eating and you haven't given her some she will get really mad at you lol. Demanding that she have some and if you aren't fast enough she demands more too.

Easter Time

Emmalyne thought she would be a sweet big sissy and share a black jelly bean with Laurana. What do you think, did she enjoy it? lol.
Emmalyne had fun at the Church BBQ looking for Easter eggs.

Pregnancy woes...

So yeah had an ultrasound on Monday... Oh for those who don't yet know, I am pregnant yet again. O.o >.< ^.^ This baby is due in August... Laurana will be 16 months old then... 2 months older than Emmalyne was when we had Laurana so we got them farther apart this time, but still a little closer than my ideal of 18 months to 2 years... But well the Lord has his own timing now doesn't he? So anyway we seem to have another modest baby on our hands... To my frustration yet again... Had its legs crossed (as you can see in the picture) and the tech also decided that it was "too soon to really tell" because the baby measured closer to 17 weeks than 18 weeks... Even though I have been told that now they can tell as early as 16 weeks. This place they send me to for ultrasounds sux...
But of course right now I am not thinking too highly of my midwife either... When I first went to see her she told me that things had changed and that for delivery I would have to go to a hospital in Phoenix instead of the hospital right next door to her office. At the time I didn't think to ask why. On my next visit I asked her why I had to go so far to deliver, and she commenced to inform me that she no longer delivers and that the hospital I was being sent to to deliver was where her associate doctors deliver. So what she was telling me was that I was going to have a perfect stranger and a doctor deliver my baby. I don't know about anyone else but I choose to go to a midwife for the delivery not for the prenatal visits. Prenatal visits for a doctor versus a midwife are not really different at least not for a C.N.M. If I had wanted a doctor to deliver me I would have chosen a doctor, then I would know the person or if there were several in the office I would be likely to meet all of them throughout the pregnancy at some point. It's one thing to have the one who was supposed to deliver you be out of town or not be able to make it for some reason or other and then have another doctor that you don't know deliver but a whole other story to have that as the only option for the whole pregnancy. And the worst part is I don't believe she was going to tell me on her own... The only reason she told me that she no longer delivers is because I asked her a related question. So yeah I guess you could say I am feeling betrayed... that is probably the best way to explain that... I don't like the uncertainty of it... I have heard of too many experiences where the doctor has disregarded the fact that the woman in labor knows her own body a heck of a lot better than they do and they disregard her wishes. I refuse to have that happen to me. If I am going to have to have a doctor because there isn't a midwife close enough that will deliver me I WILL CHOOSE my doctor getting a good referral from a friend I trust and speaks highly of hers. I will not be put into a situation that is that far out of my control. I refuse to be disregarded for something this important.
Ok well I think I will stop venting and next time talk of brighter and happier things, like my little girls. Thanks for listening... or in this case reading...

Beginning

So yeah thought I would start this now. Done a little on myspace, but I know a number of people on here so thought I would give this a try.
Here is a pic of my little girls with their Daddy. It was taken at Emmalyne's Birthday party that we had with my family in February about a week b4 she turned 2 and Laurana there is 10 months old.
